THE NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF HEAT TRANSFER AND FLUID FLOW PROBLEMS BY USING THE PROPER GENERALIZED DECOMPOSITION METHOD

In numerical approximate method, for highly exact requirement the ones often mesh space and time very smooth, which the common discrete methods spend a lot of time for solving that model. This paper studies a discretization technique, the Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD), and uses its ability to solve the heat transfer and fluid flow problem. Applying PGD to solve Poisson equation of the two-dimensional incompressible fluid and comparing to the successive over-relaxation method, the results show that PGD is faster than SOR about 200 times with the element number is about 10000.
