Non - Formal education an annotated international bibliography

As the world crisis in formal education intensifies, interest in non-formal, or non-school, education has grown at a rapid pace. Educators, administrators, politicians, and the average citizen have all become more or less aware of the need for alternatives to schooling, tribute to both individual and national development. Because non-formal education is an exceedingly complex and elusive topic, it may be helpful at the outset to define operationally the concept, to present a rationale for its systematic study, and to compare some modal characteristics of formal and non-formal educational programs.
