Real - time computer control

Up to now we have concentrated mainly on z-domain mathematical analysis methods to provide the reader with a sound understanding of sampled data systems and how such systems can be designed. After the design phase, the Implementation of the solutions poses difficulties which as yet have not been considered in this text. In this chapter we tackle these issues since the use of computers in controlling real systems on-line has become standard practice, and consequently control engineers need to be aware of the important factors.
