Embryology

Embryology was an attempt to combine a discussion of the general principles of embryology' with a survey of the anatomy of the embryo. Like most early experiments, this one proved in need of refinement, and since this experiment took the form of a published book, the refinements have come not merely from the author but from many other embryologists who discovered some of the text's virtues and short­ comings through using it with their classes. It may be of interest, therefore, to indicate how these suggestions have been incorporated in the present edition
