An introduction to modern biology

This book has three primary objectives:
1. to describe those biological principles and concepts that well help students to understand the functioning of living systems and appreciate the variety of forms that these systems take; (2) to provide students with a textbook in biology that they can comprehend without prior detailed lectures or discussions by an instructor, but without a reduction or "watering down" of the content of the textbook.
