Experiment Investigation on a Solar Asisted Heat Pump Dryer for Chili

The aim of this research is to evaluate the performance of solar assisted heat pump dryer for chilli. The
experiments were carried out on three types different of days such as clear day, intermittent cloud sky day and overcast sky
day. The experimental results show that the useful heat gain of solar collectors for drying chili of the clear day, intermittent
cloud sky day and overcast sky day are 14.5 kWh; 8.91 kWh and 0 kWh, respectively, and the corresponding energy
consumptions of solar- assisted heat pump dryer are 19.2 kWh, 21.4 kWh and 26.1 kWh, respectively. The coefficients of
performance (COP) in the three cases are 3.45, 3.46, and 3.51, respectively.
